Mortar & Dry-Mix Additives
Additive packages for dry-mix mortar systems. Improve adhesion strength, flexibility and open time in tile adhesive, or flow and self-leveling in screed and repair mortars.
Dry-mix mortar is formulated to a standard, not to a specification sheet. Your product has to pass a bond strength test on a specific substrate, keep an open time that suits the applicator, and hold its shape on a vertical surface — all while staying within a cost target.
We supply the PCE component of that formulation, plus supporting additives, and we work with dry-mix producers on dosage rather than just shipping powder. Send us your target standard and current formulation and we will propose a dosage level for trial.
Because our powder PCE is made from our own mother liquor, the grade you qualify in your laboratory is the grade that arrives in the next container.
Typical Specifications
Values are typical and not a specification. Request the latest TDS for guaranteed figures.
Available Grades
Each grade is developed around a different balance of water reduction, slump retention and setting behaviour. Tell us your application and we will recommend the right one — or test samples if you are unsure.
Balanced water reduction and open time for cementitious tile adhesive. Improves bond strength while keeping the mortar workable long enough for the applicator.
| Recommended Dosage | 0.15% – 0.35% |
|---|---|
| Key Benefit | Improved bond strength, workable open time |
Powder grade tuned for self-leveling compounds. Delivers high flow with low bleeding, so the surface levels cleanly without segregation or water sheen.
| Recommended Dosage | 0.20% – 0.45% |
|---|---|
| Key Benefit | High flow, low bleeding, clean surface |
For fast-setting repair mortars based on aluminate or sulphoaluminate cement, where conventional PCE grades lose effectiveness. Maintains dispersion while allowing rapid strength gain.
| Recommended Dosage | 0.20% – 0.45% |
|---|---|
| Key Benefit | Works in CAC/SAC, low retardation |

Questions About Mortar Additives?
In most cases yes, but cement composition varies considerably by region. We recommend requesting a free sample and running a dosage trial with your own cement and sand before placing a bulk order — that is exactly what the sample is for.
Often yes. Dosage is frequently set higher than necessary. Send us your current formulation and target standard, and we will test whether a lower dosage of a higher-efficiency grade delivers the same result at lower cost.
Our core products are PCE-based. For supporting additives such as cellulose ethers and redispersible powders we can advise on specification and, where useful, supply alongside the PCE so your logistics stay simple.
