Refractory Castable
Dispersants for low-cement and ultra-low-cement refractory castables. Reduce water demand so you gain flow and placement time without losing hot strength.
In low-cement castables, added water is a direct trade against hot strength. Every additional percent of water improves placement and reduces the refractoriness and mechanical strength of the installed lining. The dispersant is how you break that trade-off.
Our refractory grades are built for high-alumina and calcium aluminate cement systems, where conventional concrete PCE grades lose effectiveness. They reduce water demand at low dosage, extending working time enough for placement without pushing water content up.
We work with refractory producers on the water-to-dispersant balance for their specific aggregate package and installation method.
What We Focus On
Lower water demand
Achieve placement flow while keeping added water — and therefore porosity — low.
Preserved hot strength
Lower water content translates directly into better refractoriness and mechanical strength.
Working time for placement
Enough open time to place and consolidate the castable properly.
Designed for CAC and high-alumina systems
Performs where conventional concrete PCE grades are ineffective.
Questions From Refractory Castable Producers
WT101 powder is our standard recommendation for refractory and high-alumina systems, using 0.10% – 0.30% of binder weight. Tell us your cement type and aggregate package and we will confirm a starting dosage.
Our refractory grades are formulated with low retardation so that setting behaviour remains predictable. If you work with a specific installation window, tell us the requirement and we will match the grade accordingly.
